Dr. Anand represents the interests of Mainline Intellectual Property’s clients before the USPTO.

Dr. Anand has been a registered Patent Agent with the United States Patent and Trademark office (USPTO) since 2013. With over 20 years of experience in diverse areas of Biology and Chemistry and broad interests in Science and Technology, he offers and coordinates IP assistance in diverse areas including mechanical and electrical devices, computer software and business methods. Dr. Anand’s broad interests in science and technology allows him to offer assistance in representing your interests before the USPTO in all areas of technology. His focus is on Life Sciences, Chemistry, Mechanical devices, Medical devices, Sports equipment, and Consumer products. Dr. Anand also coordinates Mainline’s patent prosecution in other countries.

Prior to founding Mainline, Dr. Anand was a faculty at the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he was funded on two National Institutes of Health (NIH, USA) investigator-initiated R21 research grants. He has published more than a dozen research papers on various aspects of bacterial multiplication such as regulation of cell division, DNA replication and DNA recombination. He has attended several international conferences and spoken as an invited speaker at prestigious conferences including the Gordon Research Conference.

Dr. Anand holds certificates of achievements in Academic Entrepreneurship from the Katz School of Business, University of Pittsburgh and the Office of Enterprise Development, University of Pittsburgh. He completed his PhD in Microbiology and Cell Biology from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and his post-doctoral training at the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, USA. He has two US patents, and EU, Japanese and Chinese patents. He is also the Co-Founder of Durabird, a startup focussing on Badminton. He also provides IP and startup support to startups from top institutes such as Stanford University, Indian Institute Science (Bangalore), and NYU.

Dr. Sahoo

Dr. Sahoo represents the interests of our clients before the Indian Patent Office.

Dr. Sahoo is a registered Indian Patent Agent with 14 years of experience in academia and industry in the areas of Biotech and Pharma. She holds a Ph.D degree in Molecular Virology from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights Law from National Law School of India University, Bangalore; a Post graduate degree in Business Management from Xavier Institute of management, Bhubaneswar and Advanced Courses from WIPO Worldwide Academy in Patents and Patent Drafting. Having worked with both multinational companies and law firms, Dr. Sahoo has rich experience in setting up research labs, recruitment, training and developing teams, project development, coordination and net-working with scientists / inventors from different parts of the world. She brings over 10 years experience in patent prosecution and IP management support.

Dr. Sahoo’s specialties include biomedical science, drug discovery & development, product development, pharmaceutical, healthcare and life sciences.

Henu Kalra

Mrs. Henu Kalra is an experienced patent practitioner and analyst with over 16 years of experience. Her educational background includes a B.Sc. in Zoology, an M.Sc. in Biotechnology, certification in Computational Biology from Harvard Extension, and Regulatory Intelligence from The Graham School, UChicago.

She is highly experienced with conducting patent studies across diverse domains, including semiconductor fabrication, ergonomic gloves, polymers, food & nutrition, biotechnology, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. She has successfully carried out due diligence and intelligence studies to guide and support R&D initiatives, litigation, and merger & acquisition proceedings. In her past life, she has worked closely with multiple in-house IP teams including GE Healthcare and Life Science, GE Global Research and assisted consulting attorneys of large corporations in application drafts and prosecution. She also has established robust work processes and conducted training for professionals at different levels of IP expertise in the firms she has worked previously in.

Mr. Parmar

Mr. Parmar is an Indian IP attorney. He is a graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BIT Mesra and in Law from Delhi University. He has about 17 years of experience in the field of IP management and advisory. He has drafted and supported the prosecution of Indian, US, PCT, EPO, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Australian patents.

His specialities are in the areas of electrical, mechanical, computer, and healthcare technologies. In particular, he has worked on electrical transmission systems, power electronics, electrical powertrains, electro-mechanical devices, telecommunication, artificial intelligence, blockchain, medical imaging, healthcare, bio-medical devices, business process, and other software related technologies.

Mr. Parmar has prior experience as a Lead IP Professional with the General Electric where he developed portfolios for smart grid systems, wireless networks, medical devices, and hybrid electric vehicles, and as a Senior IP Attorney at CPA Global where he managed a team of people involved in creating and managing in-house IP, research and advisory in IP laws, IP docking and renewal software development, and client engagements. He has authored an international paper on ‘Digital Rights Management Systems’ that has been cited by multiple international patents. Mr. Parmar was nominated by the Government of India for a Commonwealth Scholarship. He has been invited as a guest speaker at multiple forums.

Mr. Bedi is an Indian IP Attorney with about 15 years of experience in drafting and supporting the prosecution of US, PCT, EPO, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Australian, and Indian patent applications. He has an advanced diploma in electronics and wireless communication and a degree in civil engineering. Mr. Bedi has advised clients in the areas of patentability of disclosures, IP asset management strategies, patent appeals, oppositions, and legal opinion work. His specialities are in the areas of advanced battery technologies, vehicular electric power systems, electro-mechanical devices, analog to digital converters, data center management, semiconductors, computer software and networks, and memory storage devices.

Mr. Bedi has prior experience as a team leader at IPpro (Affiliate of Nishith Desai Associates), and as an IP attorney at CPA Global. At IPpro, he was responsible for leading and mentoring a team of technical specialists delivering various patent work products to various international companies and patent law firms. At CPA, he was responsible for managing a team of people involved in researching trademark renewal laws and updating the trademark renewal software apart from creating and managing in-house IP and client engagement.
